The Black (and Gray) Hats in Windjammer's World

Greenwar

A radical offshoot of Greenpeace, Greenwar believes in taking whatever steps are necessary—including terrorist acts—to protect the environment. Active around the globe, they have only recently taken actions in the United States, including a hostage standoff that became the major introduction of Windjammer to the world.

Earth Angel

The mysterious, winged woman that leads Greenwar from her hidden base somewhere in South America.

Delight

A light-wielding, flying mercenary for hire, the girl called Delight captured the attention of the world when she fought Windjammer on live television (the costume helped). A haunted, angry young woman with a tragic past, her place in Windjammer's life is still uncertain, and a great source of confusion and angst for him. And recent visions have her wondering about her sanity, and if there may be a lot more to her powers than she had ever imagined...

Nathan Carthage

A killer for hire with total control over flame, this homicidal maniac has fixated on Windjammer and has unpleasant plans for the beloved hero.

The Man in the Castle

He sits in a large castle, somewhere in the world, a man of awesome power, watching dozens of television screens and seemingly waiting for something called "the gathering"—something that seems to involve the hero Windjammer. Almost nothing is known of him at this time. But his time—and this gathering—is coming.

Monolith

An ex-militia man whose wife was killed in an F.B.I. raid in the Arizona desert, Monolith escaped prison and reinvented himself as the self-styled leader of the home-grown terrorist organization called Monument. The group's big coming out, and their attempt to detonate a nuclear bomb in Arizona, was their ending, and the end of the short career of Anthem...and the beginning of the career of Windjammer.
