About Me
I'm an auto insurance claims adjuster by day, writer by night. Wouldn't mind taking one of those off the list and making the other an all-day thing...

I'm a big fan of kids doing martial arts. My son did karate classes from the time he was five until we moved from Raleigh when he was ten. He managed to get his orange belt (the third rank) and was close to his next one when we left. He decided not to restart it though in a new dojo when we moved. Ah well.
Well, then he'll have no one but himself to blame when he's attacked by rogue ninjas. I'm just saying... Though orange belt might be enough to do the trick. After all, rogue ninjas, by definition, lack the discipline of your typical ninja...
Guess what I'm taking, folks?
Karate lessons!
Okay, I''ll just wait for the hilarity to subside. Sigh.
Seriously, I take classes for the exercise, not for the ability to kick someone's butt. Actually, I have trouble lifting my legs high enough to kick someone's butt. Maybe I can kick someone's calf.
Seriously, when I was out for Thanksgiving in the fall, my sisters and my parents literally laughed out loud when they heard. It was passed around like a joke. "Hey, you know what KC's doing?"
My family. Sigh. Imagination luddites.
"No one likes that Star Wars stuff!"
"Comic books? You're nearly eight!"
Et cetera.
I tell you, it's real funny now that their kids are reaching "that age" and they're trying to WARN me not to buy them Spider-man for their birthdays (I won't - Batman, however... :) )
The elder of my brothers gave up, and his kids have more Star Wars toys than they know what to do with.
One down, three more to go. Heh heh heh!
Danielle reminds me a lot of me, when I was a young ninja...
